In her own words:

Learning to Stand Again..

I was 26 weeks pregnant when i was diagnosed with preeclampsia, it hit my kidneys first and hearing the words kidney failure really hit me hard then it started effecting my heart, Anayah was born just weeks later at 28 weeks at just 2lbs as my body couldn’t sustain her any longer, the fear of loosing her will always stay with me the fear of not leaving the hospital will always. The thought of not seeing my first born was so difficult the unknown whether i would survive whether my baby will survive. Always the question why me, why didn’t I get to choose the natural route pre-eclampsia took away my choice to decide pre-eclampsia changed my outlook on life, the trauma stays with you.

If I could give any advice now it would be always be monitored always make sure your being monitored, pre-eclampsia comes so fast and it’s speed lightening effect can change your condition in a matter of hours.

I still remember standing for the first time the swelling in my legs due to renal failure the pain from the emergency c section the not being able to hold Anayah for the first time. Pre-eclampsia took everything from me. Don’t let it take it from you get checked get monitored always. My pregnancy was full of worry whether we going to make it or not the excitement had left pre-eclampsia took away the joy of pregnancy.

2 years on we are fighting strong, getting up each day staying focused on positive goals hoping memories full of happiness will change the pain we felt.
