Rachel developed severe pre-eclampsia at just 25 weeks pregnant. She got in touch with APEC to help raise awareness.

I lost my daughter in May 2019 at 25.5 weeks gestation due to a severe early onset of pre eclampsia. I was in hospital for a week incredibly unwell and I could have died if I had not gone into hospital when I did.

I want to be involved with APEC for both myself, and other parents to raise awareness and contribute towards research so one day we can live in a world where pre eclampsia isn’t a potential death sentence for baby and mum. I also want to help now for my future self, to help me for when I decide to try and conceive again.
