Action on Pre-eclampsia provides pre-eclampsia support and information to members of the public and support to those affected by the condition. We also run a confidential service open to anyone seeking information or support. Our helpline is always open and we receive calls from pregnant women, those who have experienced pre-eclampsia and associated conditions, concerned relatives and healthcare professionals. What is pre-eclampsia
Pre-eclampsia is the most common of the serious complications of pregnancy. It is caused by a defect in the placenta, which joins the mother and baby and supplies the baby with nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood.

The expert referral scheme
We have a network of experts on pre-eclampsia who have agreed to offer one-off consultations or second opinions to those with queries and concerns; you have to be referred via your GP.
